DIY Patriotic Decor

DIY

Patriotic decorations are hitting store shelves so I decided it was time to start working on my own star-spangled DIY decor projects. I picked up a few supplies from Target and Dollar Tree and got busy crafting.

Fireworks Stand

This Dollar Tree DIY was inspired by my friend Chris from Z & C Design on Instagram. As soon as I saw his interchangeable lemonade stand, I knew I wanted to make something similar for my patriotic decor. The best part about this project is that the fireworks sign and chalkboard on the front of the stand are attached with magnets so they can easily be changed to correspond with any theme. I am already thinking about how I will modify this for future seasons.

Beaded Star

To create this project, I combined a small beaded garland from the Target Dollar Spot and a wooden star from the Crafter’s Square section of Dollar Tree. With the help of a bit of red and blue chalk paint and some vinyl letters I cut with my Cricut machine, this beaded star got a patriotic makeover.

Upgraded Ice Cream Cone

Who knew a fake ice cream cone from the toy section of Dollar Tree could become such an adorable addition to a tiered-tray? For this simple project, I used hot glue to attach the ice cream to the cone and gave it a few red and blue sprinkles with some puffy paint.

Book Stack

Continuing with the patriotic theme, I gave this Target Dollar Spot book stack a coat of red, white, and blue chalk paint. To give it a bit more flair, I added the Stars and Stripes text to the front and a firework from Hobby Lobby to the top.

Home of the Brave

I picked up a set of three wooden houses from the Target Dollar Spot and gave one house a coat of white chalk paint. While the paint was drying, I found this Home of the Brave design on Cricut Design Space and cut it out of sparkly red vinyl. I placed the text on the house and that was it for this simple project

Fireworks Bundle

The inspiration for this project came from a video I saw on Whiskey & Whit’s YouTube channel. She created an adorable fireworks bundle using a Dollar Tree plunger handle and I just had to try it for myself. It was such a simple DIY and I am so happy with the finished product.

USA Banner

I created a rustic shamrock for St. Patrick’s Day and I wanted to try to make a similar project for my patriotic decor. I used a wooden banner sign from Dollar Tree as the base and added red, white, and blue craft sticks to create a patriotic background. Then I attached three Dollar Tree galvanized stars and placed sparkly USA letter stickers on the stars to finish the sign. I love how it looks hanging on my front door.
